I can see I did not e...Jim, you are well deserving. I can see I did not express myself well. After giving up rock climbing, I decided to go to the top of Brunelleschi's Dome...the regular way. That means a winding staircase that gets increasingly claustrophobic. It empties out onto a cramped space overlooking the city. You feel like you could become an angel at any moment. The space is protected by a railing. That railing is probably fine, but my memory is that it would be as effective as aluminum foil. The Duomo in Milan was better for a person with height challenges.
